Madam Secretary Series Finale Reactions – This is loving one of the least hipster shows on TV. Devoted parenting, unstable cast changes, long seasons. Cameo appearance as Colin Powell himself! Be amazed at the variety of pronunciations that are attempted. Interested in the passionate diplomatic expressions and occasional mentions of Thomas Aquinas?
The CBS political drama ended its six-season run on Sunday, closing out a shortened 10-episode season that found heroine Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) battling the president. Even for a show that generally has a high affinity for cheese, it’s good, but often with cheese.
Madam Secretary Series Finale Reactions
This season is mostly a struggle because there is nothing exciting about being president. The show is always the most interesting when Elizabeth can play by her own rules. But nothing made him the president. Violation of protocol is not commendable and in fact is often a crime.
Madam Secretary’ Closes Cbs Run With Cicely Tyson, Tyne Daly Cameos
And hey, the show was never called “Madame President.” (Or “Commander-in-Chief” – it’s Geena Davis.) But at its best, “Madame Secretary” is a gentle delight, tight-fitting dresses, oversized stationery, and shortbread cookies. The situation room had a warm discussion. In addition, Bebe Neuwirth, Patina Miller, and Erich Bergen sing about international relations with the song “The Longest Time.”
Billy Joel’s subtle parody doesn’t make much of a splash, and in the television talk economy, ‘Madame Secretary’ can’t compete with ‘Homeland’ or ‘House of Cards.’ It’s not an endearing summary, and it’s not a hit score.
I was skeptical at first. What do you think of the Minister of State? Seems crazy, but here I come. The secretary’s chief of staff, Nadine Neuwirth, is ugly and imperfect, has an unpleasant romantic history, and is separated from her adult son. In other words, she is interesting and knowledgeable about some things and not interested in others. Everyone does. The show never recovered from her exit in season 4, but Sara Ramirez’s Kat added Butch’s versatility when it needed it…but then she left.
Even with the decline of the office drama in the later seasons, “Madame Secretary” is fortunately half of the domestic drama, and the family story is often the best part of the show.

Elizabeth and her husband Henry (Tim Daley) have raised their three children in a most appropriate and loving manner. Usually on TV, if you see a grown woman wet her hands and arms, it may be because the partner is not familiar with her emotions and needs, and it is a sleep between her and her partner. In “Madame Secretary”, Elizabeth and Henry communicate incessantly, assessing each other’s moods and needs, offering support, kisses, or from stylish but not too fashionable glasses. It is rare because it provides meaningful insight. We should all be very lucky.
The energy and pace of “Madame Secretary” is reminiscent of an era before anti-heroes, stage performances and stories. A rare but glorious moment of the gang getting drunk and singing together in a bar?, for my “Allie McBeal” “youth. Breakfasts full of family jokes often take me back to the heyday of “The O.C.”
Before she made “Madame Secretary”, Barbara Hall made “Joan of Arcadia”, and emotionally literate parenting, especially hard-hearted parenting, is present here as well. ‘It doesn’t feel like “The West Wing” at all, despite the timely episodes being inspired by true events, it hardly feels like The West Wing.
Madam Secretary Season 4 Episode 21 Preview: The Threat Of A Flood
It feels more like a show to enjoy than to suffer from. Trust me, I love the complexity of the show, reading the endless threads analyzing the little clues, making the little hint charts, deciphering the supporting material… but there is so much more to love. You cannot live in a sad drama alone. Did the invitation to Stevie and Dmitri’s wedding get lost in the mail? Fear not: we’ve rounded up all the highlights from the finale of Madam Secretary. This includes the marriage of the first daughter and her soulmate.
The episode “Leaving the Station” takes place nine months after the last event and picks up two days before Stevie’s wedding. She and Dmitry will hold it in a beautiful and pastoral place. They are particularly obsessed with things like hand hammers on the site… which play a huge role in what happens next.
Gaining a breakthrough after an unsuccessful impeachment and supporting the president, Elizabeth announced that Mr. She will restore the Equal Rights Amendment to ratify the constitutional amendment in all 50 states. (A woman born on the day women got the right to vote – a woman in the Oval Office with a member of the US Women’s National Football Team – could have given Elizabeth grief over equal pay and the introduction of family leave. It wasn’t. The bill didn’t expressly guarantee women’s equality in the Constitution.
One of Elizabeth’s biggest opponents on the front lines of equal rights reform is Ohio Senator Amy Ross (guest Tyne Daley,
So Madam Secretary Isn’t “realistic” About Washington. Who Cares!
Sister Starr/Tim), I think men and women are different. While Amy waits to talk to the president, the Daley brothers have a cute scene together, but Stevie’s wedding room just caught fire, so they can’t concentrate!
Everyone, especially Russell, tried to move the big event to another place. However, due to the limitations of Elizabeth’s security protocol, they are basically limited to Camp David or 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Stevie eventually got married at the White House.
Elizabeth and Henry are convinced that the incident should not become a political issue, although Mike urges them to use it to their advantage. But Stevie and Dmitri were on board. And finally, there will be the participation of many members of the Senate and at least have The honor of foreign countries. Russell’s wife, Carol, was there, but they sat separately as she told him several times that his work was too high a priority and she left him.
President Dorton conducts the ceremony and recites the oath by Dmitri and Stevie respectively. Simple, sweet and lovely, Stevie’s outfit is divine…and of course Jason and Alison. So is Daisy (excluded but not working). Matt (currently writing a TV show in Los Angeles); Blake (playing some music during the reception) and his fiancee; And Jay (still with the chess player–pregnant!–and back in DC). Also, Matt wants to see Daisy and says he should move to Los Angeles…
Madam Secretary’ Ep On The Romantic Series Finale & The Mccords’ ‘solid’ Relationship
Other highlights of the reception: Henry gave a toast, Thomas Aquinas was mentioned often, Peter Frampton performed “Show Me the Way” at the opening dance, Russell and his wife reunited after promising to put her down before work from now on – and proved it. It was by writing a letter of resignation in the cocktail tent and giving it to Elizabeth at dinner. that night.
A month later, Jay became Elizabeth’s new chief of staff, entered the Oval Office, and told her that the ERA would pass both the House and the Senate, but polls showed that 50 states would ratify it. Therefore, she proposed a cease-fire tour to encourage support throughout the country. And the last shot of the whole series is her wrapping up at one of those stops and kissing Henry while the crowd cheers and the train is leaving the station.
Now it’s your turn. Rate the final series of Madam Secretary in your poll below, then drop your additional thoughts in the comments!
After everything the McCord family has been through, an interesting ending is hidden in the When President Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) wins the impeachment trial . The Secretary General concluded with warm and reasonable resolutions. This is what our reality looks like if Hillary Clinton wins the 2016 presidential election.
Cast Of
In the last four episodes of the show, the impeachment investigation and the added stakes of another possible world war have greatly improved the tone and quality of the writing and political action.
We chose for the last chipper to serve as a cherry on top. The final shot shows Elizabeth and Henry (Tim Daly) kissing behind a train car.
