NAPOLEON – On August 12, seven members of the Liberty Center FFA chapter were recognized as the 2020 Henry County Junior Fair Champions. Members include Samantha Engler, Samantha Graber, Sarah Graber, Chelsea Sattler, Adrianna Meyer, Maryn Findling and Shalyn Findling.
Samantha Engler, a five-year member of the FFA organization, will serve as a member of the 2020 Henry County Junior Fair Royal Court. Samantha is also the Liberty Center FFA chapter president.
Miss South Carolina
Samantha Graber has been selected as the 2020 Henry County Pork Princess. Samantha currently serves as the Liberty Center FFA Vice President. Sarah Graber serves as the 2020 Henry County Dairy Princess. Both siblings are five-year members of the FFA organization.
Chelsea Sattler serves as the 2020 Henry County Fair Sheep Ambassador. Chelsea is participating in the FFA organization for the third year.
Adrianna Meyer, a third-year FFA member, will serve as the 2020 Henry County Fair Goat Ambassador. Adrianna currently serves as editor for the Liberty Center’s FFA chapter.
Maryn and Shalyn Findling, twins, are both serving as 2020 Henry County Fair Horse Ambassadors. Both siblings are in their second year of FFA membership.

It’s county fair time, which means it’s officially time for the mid-season dusting, the advent of food and the crowning of the town’s beauty queen. But this time there is an interesting world turn. On Monday night at the Dyer County Fair in Dyersburg, Tennessee, 15-year-old Reagan Ross took home the coveted Junior Fairest title.
But instead of sleeping the next day or enjoying his rocks, he went to work. Reagan, a sophomore at Dyer County High School, is a member of Future Farmers of America (her grandfather, now retired, was a longtime FFA teacher). It sounds like a figment of our imagination, as part of his FFA obligations, he is scheduled to show his pig, Stinker Bell, the very next morning.

Eagle Teen Joins Pageant World
OREGON, IL – As a former 4-H’er and member of a farm family, Renee Gehrke fits in well with the friendly environment of the Ogle County Fairgrounds.
And that comfort level came through loud and clear to the judges when the 19-year-old from Byron was crowned Miss Ogle County 2022.
Gehrke, whose family runs a ranch near Byron, was selected from a field of six in August. 3.
“I’m very happy right now. I’m in disbelief,” she said after the coronation. “I am very excited this year to serve Ogle County and truly represent who we are.”
Girl Wins Local Fair Pageant, Shows Up Next Day In Crown To Show Ffa Pig
Agriculture has been an important part of Gehrke’s life and his family owns and maintains the Gehrke family farm.
“I’m proud of it. We’ll handle it together as a family,” he said. “I’ve been showing cattle all year. I didn’t bring anything to the game this year, but it’s still one of my favorites.”
Gehrke attended Highland Community College and was an intern in the Ag in the Classroom program this summer. He will attend Iowa State University in the fall to pursue a career in the ag industry.
“I hope to give back to my community and the organizations that made me who I am today, like 4-H, FFA and many others,” he said in his campaign. “I want to help the youth of our community become the farmers of tomorrow and encourage them to follow their dreams.”
