Lewis, Stephanie, and Ravi all agree that this view of how the industry is evolving needs to be adjusted for the current work environment.

Sometimes you’re on an escalator moving in the right direction and with every step you take, you’re moving forward.
“On the other hand, sometimes you’re in a situation where you’re going up the stairs the wrong way and every step you take feels like you’re going back down.”
Building Your Org’s Career Progression Framework
Ravi says that what really helped clarify the escalator metaphor for him was the Bangaly Kaba blog post.
“Effect = Environment x Skill.” In the following sections, we will discuss this amazing technique.

But a bad manager will change your career path as if you were still on the rise. Even if you’re doing great work, you may feel like that work isn’t being recognized or the impact isn’t translating into progress toward your career or development goals.
As you can see, there are several ways to check your progress. We hope these examples will help you plan a great business and growth strategy for the next few years.
If you know you want to accelerate your career, the next thing to think about is where to invest your time.
A very thoughtful part of the company. Some grow at first, while others like the scale that appears later. If you enjoy working on a wide range of products and scope, such as working with many people in a large company, and are looking to hone your skills in mature product management, this might be the perfect company for you. It depends on where you think you can be most productive at that point in your career.
That being said, Ravi has seen many cases of people who have succeeded in their business after spending a few years at a large tech company. In this type of business, you can join the way of big companies in product development.
