It’s April, friends! We’ve had our fair share of April showers these past few days, but I was able to squeeze in some time this weekend to freshen up our front door with some spring decor. I get happy every year when the stores and nurseries start bringing in all their spring and summer produce.

Our community garden is doing a great job with water bulbs, and I love seeing the hyacinths, tulips and daffodils growing around town. The forsythia and cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Who doesn’t love spring blooms and flowers?!

Last weekend I went outside despite the warm spring weather and put my thoughts to my waterfront decorator. After finding local nurseries and big box stores for flowers, I quickly cleaned and freshened up the space, then got to work adding some decor to the front. Five easy steps and it appears fully restored!

Then sweep, vacuum or give the porch a thorough cleaning. In our last house we painted the concrete to give it a coat of color every year in the spring. But in this room our exposed units don’t work well. Legs are good and look fresh and clean for spring and summer.

I picked up some watered nurseries wrapped in shiny plastic wrap. To make it more beautiful, I decided to hide them in a small basket I had on hand.

I love how much better they look in the basket than they did in their original plastic packaging.

I have a larger gray and charcoal rug that I use as a base for my various seasonal jute fabrics. My low cut rug is from Costco, and the modern jute rug is from Michaels.
