Projects For Dads And Sons – My father’s tools used a power wheel to draw a picture of a boy mechanic, he hand-painted them and made many tools and frames around the frames.
My husband is a mechanic and I thought I would take a mechanic photo with my son for their first Father’s Day.

After taking pictures for my son, I found a metal frame at a local craft store. I also bought a small tool at a local hardware store for a low price. I used epoxy to secure the tools around the frame.
Dad Rocks Paperweight Craft
I had my picture printed at Walgreens for $0.12 to fit the frame. My frame was perfect for a 5×7 photo mat. Some frames come with mats that you can use or buy a mat and cut to size.
As a sticker on the mat, I wrote, “I want to be like my dad when I grow up.” I divided the sticker styles so that the first letter of each word and the word “Dad” were bigger and more impressive.
After the frame was dry (let it sit for 24 hours), I put all the pieces together. I also checked that the mini flashlight had a battery and could be turned on.
The shot with the “I want to be like my dad when I grow up” tool is my favorite, but I made it so my husband can continue to use it at work and my other mechanic friends can admire. I thought picture time was good so I made a collage frame to take home!
